The Crown and Castle

Christmas 3-night package 2014

A genuine spirit of hospitality prevails at the Crown and Castle, with Ruth’s home-made Christmas cake, pudding and mince pies, a side table replete with tangerines, chocolates, stollen and other goodies – and, of course, an open log fire. Many guests re-book each year so there are only a few rooms available. Here’s what’s included:

Christmas Eve – Wednesday, 24th December
Something lovely from Artisan du Chocolat and a bar of Teoni’s biscuits in your room * hot mince pies and tea * pre-prandial Bellini cocktail * 3-course a la carte dinner to include coffee * a comfortable bed

 Christmas Day – Thursday, 25th December
A really nice present from Santa * continental breakfast * a 4-course Christmas lunch with a choice that includes free-range Suffolk turkey and all the trimmings (NB no dietary changes are available for this meal) * a light supper * more sleeping

Boxing Day – Friday, 26th December
Buck’s Fizz breakfast * afternoon tea with home-made Christmas cake, panettone, savoury straws and madeira * a 3-course a la carte dinner to include coffee

Saturday, 27th December
Full English breakfast * a misty-eyed departure

The 3-night package (per couple occupying a room) is:

* If you would like to add Tuesday, 23rd December to the package, we are offering rooms at a very generous discount – please ask us.  To book the package, a non-refundable £250 deposit is required, with the balance of the package payable by 31 October 2014. We apply a £120 service charge to each final account, which is shared equally among every single member of staff.

Festive Flop 2-night package

Our very popular 2-night Festive Flop package is available for either 27th & 28th December or 29th & 30th December 2014.

The package includes a 2-course a la carte dinner * (with a free choice of dishes) each night and full English breakfast each morning. And, to take home, we will give you a lovely present of a whole side of Pinney’s oak-smoked salmon, two lemons, a fabulous sourdough loaf from the Pump Street Bakery and a bottle of our very nice house soave – which should sort out the starter problem over the New Year if you have friends or family staying.

3-night New Year’s Eve package 2014

For good food and wine, as well as a good knees-up – oh, and a good bed, of course – the Crown and Castle is a grand place to be at this time of year. We are always full on this occasion so sooner rather than later booking is advisable. The 3-night package includes the following:

Wednesday, 31st December 2014, New Year’s Eve
On arrival, tea and chocolate cake * pre-prandial prosecco and canapés in the bar *an excellent 5-course dinner with coffee and chocolates (NB dietary differences cannot be accommodated for this meal, we regret) * table entertainment * dancing to new and old music until 2.00am

Thursday, 1st January 2015, New Year’s Day
a Buck’s Fizz or Bloody Mary breakfast * tea or a glass of bubbly with smoked salmon sandwiches and home-made cake * a 3-course a la carte dinner with coffee

Friday, 2nd January 2015
Full English breakfast * a 3-course a la carte dinner to include coffee

Saturday, 3rd January 2015
Full English breakfast followed by departure

If you would like to add Saturday, 3rd January as a nice wind-down day, we are offering rooms with 50% discount on the normal B&B rate and dinner charged as taken.

To book the 3-night package, a £250 non-refundable deposit is required, with the balance of the package payable by 31 October 2014. We also apply a discretionary £120 service charge to each final account: this goes to the staff in its entirety and is divided equally among them all, seen or unseen.
